He has studied and played with a variety of famous teachers\, musical styles and traditions. Dave’s diverse background include studies in jazz\, balkan/classical/flamenco/African finger style blues guitar\, sitar and Indian slide guitar. Dave holds an MFA in North Indian Music at California Institute of the Arts. He has self-produced 4 CDs\, and has received awards from the Maryland State Arts Council and the Baltimore Office of Promotions and the Arts. \nAbout Mezeina (meh-zeh-chee-nah)\na Los Angeles-based group made up of 4 woman\, each with years of performance\, teaching\, composing and arranging experience.  They are stretching the boundaries of folk music from Eastern Europe and beyond.\nParticularly drawn to the mesmerizing rhythms and melodies of Balkan music\, they embrace folk music as a blend of new and old traditions: as a living\, breathing art form that connects us all. \nAbout Jamie Papish\nA veteran percussionist\, recording artist\, composer\, arranger and teacher of 25 years. Jamie specializes in a variety of world & sacred music and percussion styles ranging from Middle Eastern\, Turkish\, Persian\, Sephardic\, Yemenite\, Ashkenazi  Armenian\, Balkan and Kirtan. He has toured the world with the award winning Yuval Ron Ensemble and continues to be a in-demand performer.

Inspired by her grandmother’s legacy as a frame-drum player\, Musolino has dedicated her career to preserving and reimagining the folk songs of Sicily. Musolino’s current projects include blending Southern Italian traditions with the sounds of the American South\, creating a vibrant new musical dialogue. \nInternationally recognized Sicilian-American singer\, Michela Musolino\, the grand-daughter of Sicilians immigrated to America\, explores cultural roots and shares them with the world through the study and reinterpretation of the folk songs of Sicily and Southern Italy. \nA love for her roots set Musolino on a course of a liftime of exploration of the musical traditions of Sicily – returning again and again to Sicily and Italy to research\, discover\, and perform a tradition of music first identified as its own entity in the mid 1400’s: Sicilian Folk Music. \nHaving grown up listening the language and music from two worlds\, Musolino now weaves the ancient and the modern into melodies and allures with a voice that seems to float between the ages.
