SUMMARY:Heart of The Earth: A world dance journey
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a magical evening of world acoustic dance music with Heart of The Earth\,  featuring Biko Cassini of Rising Appalachia and more!\n\n\nJoin us for a magical evening with Biko Cassini of Rising appalachia doing and opening set  and then  Heart of The Earth\, for an allstar dance journey with master musicians performing on instruments from all over the world.  Special guest David Satori of Dirwire and Beats Antique.  Heart Of The Earth\, led by Vir McCoy\,  is a rotating music collective of  musicians that comes together to create improvisational world grooves.  Instrumentation diversity comes from such countries as Morocco\, Turkey\, Persia\, Brazil\, West Africa\, The Americas\, Native American and Ceremonial\,  Asian\,  African\,  India\, and outer space.  This will be the 9th Heart Of The Earth\, and it’s always special and always magical.  Come be transported. \n \nBIOS \nBiko Cassini-  Percussionist extraordinaire\, Calabash\, and Cajon player in the folk band Rising Appalachia.   Biko performs on west African Kamale-Ngoni or hunters harp\, singing a blend of traditional music and his own songs.    \n \nNacho Arimani –  World renown singer\, percussionist\, guitarist and sound healer\, Spanish born Nacho brings his incredible array of talents to Heart of The Earth.  Nacho has performed all over the world and with Herbie Hancock among many others. \n \nVir McCoy-   Vir is a musicians musician\, performing in many bands\, styles and instruments over the years from Hamsa Lila to The Mickey Heart Band (Drummer for the grateful dead)   Vir wears his world music hat for Heart Of The Earth and performs on moroccan\, Turkish and African instruments often mixed with moog.  virtunes.com \n \nTaÏb is a native of Morocco and performs on the Gnawa camel skinned instrument called the Guimbri.   Taib is also a percussionist on Dumbek\, as well as an electronic music producer.  “The Moroccan Machine” \n \nHeather Christie is an incredible vocalist\, \, keyboard player and producer.  From sultry pop to blues to soul\,  Heather runs her own record label Moonbabe\, and can be found at Festivals and ecstatic dances. \n \nJoss Jaffe.  A well known percussionist\, guitar and bassiust\, singer and ngoni player (hunters harp).  Joss can be found supporting many a Kirtan group or doing his own shows.
