Paul Livingstone in a rare solo performance will feature a world premiere work for fretless guitar. Recently returning from his 10th musical sojourn in India, Paul will be offering an intimate evening of raga meditations, nature soundscapes, and dynamic improvisations on sitar, fretless guitar, contrabass and atmospheric percussion.

Experience the world premiere of ‘Navarasa’ a new work for solo fretless guitar, exploring nine contrasting raga moods in a cycle of modulating guided improvisations. Navarasa is inspired by the traditional concept of aesthetics of art in the Natyashastra. (written between 200 BC and 200 AD)

PAUL LIVINGSTONE, Sitarist

Born in Beirut, Lebanon, international performing artist Paul Livingstone is one of the leading sitarists in America today and dedicated teaching artist & community activist. He has focused his studies in the creative tradition of Indian classical raga music in which he has been rigorously trained for the past 25 years in India and the US studying under the late Amiya Dasgupta, Rajeev Taranath and the living legend Pandit Ravi Shankar.Paul has performed in around the US, Mexico, Europe & Asia and has just returned from a major concert tour performing Indian music in Nepal, India, Czech & Germany.
